SUMMARY
What started as a simple trip turned into a full-fledged rally afterall
complete with TP, Flamingos and Giant Bunnies.
Randy (of MealsOnWheels) began the festivities by entertaining us on the campsite
maneuverablility course. We were able to physically move the boat trailer that
was in his way while backing up, but the Blazer couldn't be budged. Roger and
Cheryl wedged in between the Blazer and Randy's truck to assist .... that could
have really left a mark!
Friday night Chemmie and MOW supplied the group with Wedgewood Pizza. Found
out on Saturday that it reheats nicely in pie irons! Food seems to be a
motivator with this group . . . it earned me my Flamingos! ArroBast and his
family stopped in with a bottle of wine which prompted a wine tasting event.
Chemmie introduced the group to roasted Marshmallow Peeps. Yum! It was a good
thing Friday was an early night as Larry, our co-founder was called out to work
in the morning. Or was he just running away from the 8 foot bunny that
mysteriously appeared at Steve's site the day before?
Our plans for the pontoon boat were thrwarted by cooler temps and the threat
of rain. But there was hiking, kayaking, bike riding, wading in the lake and
some fishing. Normal camper stuff. And the large open field behind site #115 was
the ideal spot for volleyball and croquette. Perfect spot for kids and dogs.
Saturday night was the corn roast and pie iron buffet...which turned into a luau
of sorts. Steve and John donned the flowered shirts, Chemmie brought out the
lais and the Jimmy Buffett CD. Umbrella drinks appeared. And, the best part of
the night, Roger and Cindy brought over the Neon Palm Tree! And no campfire is
complete without the cooper pipe and rubber hose trick compliments of
ssands.
Michael and William, a couple of kids at the CG, claimed to know all about us
and our antics from their father who followed us on the net. Apparently some TP
found it's way over to their camper. (stolen quote from ssands) Roger and Cindy
got a little Welcome to the Rally TP, also. TP was flying freely that night.
Nothing was sacred and no one was safe. The all time TP low (or was it the
high?) was when John got wrapped in TP when he fell asleep at the camp fire.
Our group photo session was early Sunday morning, so not everyone made it.
Even the bunny had to be taken out of the box and be reinflated for the event.
